Proof text: ACTS 3:1-8
Dear children of God, for the crippled to have come to the temple gate, a place meant for spirituality, holiness, righteousness and prayer shows that he was deeply in need of something which only those with good spiritual eyesight could see. Remember, before coming to the temple gate, he must have offered prayers to God just like any other Christian will do saying: “Oh God, deliver me from this bondage, heal me from this sickness, oh God bless me, save me, let me walk again”. What you rather need is to act faith in God’s word. To do so, your capacity to believe must see beyond merely hearing the word. You should also do what it says. Unless you become a doer of the word, you cannot be considered a believer of the word. As a mere hearer of the word, you have nothing but a mental assent and sense of knowledge. The bible says your idle words may entertain men but do not reach God. As a hearer of the word, your faith is in man’s natural ability – his works, what science has done and what organizations have put in place. What a danger is a religion of words without a corresponding faith!!!
