Proof text: Exodus 14 13-14
People of God, fear changes our focus and weakens our determination and willpower. Fear is a thief of faith and love. It is a more deceptive enemy than satan himself. Many people have surrendered to their fears while their hearts dream of a miracle. The word “fear” appears 365 times in the Bible and we have 365 days in a year. This means that every day of your life, God Almighty keeps telling you not to be afraid of anything. This was the word of assurance given to every Biblical character. That gave them an unshakable confidence in their confrontation with their enemy. The Bible says when Moses and the children of Israel came face to face with the Red Sea, they felt all hopes had gone because looking behind the enemy was approaching. Yet God Almighty told them to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. At times, we panic before our adversaries, not knowing that fear gives them more courage to attack us. God wants you to be still. Let Him do the fighting. He is able to fight for you. So, hold your peace.
